Steven, we have some other options which will allow you to have simultaneous views into the manuscript and story elements - namely the Knowledge Explorer panel and the Quick View from the Editor. They allow you to view Characters, Locations, Events and Objects (not necessarily edit them but view details) while also working on the text in the editor.
